Caroline was the only surviving (of 4) daughters at the time of her father (Aeneas) Last Will and Testament dated 2 Jan 1812. Aeneas was the youngest son of Ludovick 5th Laird of Tomatin. He died at the family estate plantations on St Thomas which had been in the Danish West Indies. Aeneas did not inherit, his brothers William and Duncan (d 1854) were 6th and 7th Lairds. Caroline's marriage to Col Robert Lockhard -Ross brings together the lineage of Ross, Macbean of Tomatin and Dundas of Arniston.
