Windsor Parker was a soldier of the East India Company, 1818-38 and served at the siege of Bhurtpore in India in 1826. He was Conservative MP for West Suffolk, 1859-80 and lived for over 30 years at Clopton Hall. He and his wife were married in India in 1830 and lived to celebrate their 5oth anniversary in 1880 shortly before her death.
