Born in 1846 in North Cove and registered in Worlingham, Suffolk. Maiden name was Elliott, father was Henry Elliott, an agricultural labourer born around 1821 in Beccles, Suffolk, and her mother was Sarah Elliott, born around 1823 in Kesingland, Suffolk. She is variously also known as Richenda or Richender. She married Thomas Aldred in 1867 and they went on to have 10 children.
