François was director of the Grand Theatre in Geneva 1881-82; and 1884-85. He also directed another concert hall in Geneva in 1879. He died in Aix-les-Bains. He married Georgette-Amélie Sixsout; (1870-1951); a soprano who married as her second husband the composer Charles Silver. She first appeared in the title role of 'Manon' in 1894; and subsequently in numerous operas; often under the surname Georgette Bréjean-Silver.
