William Fleming was the son of Charles Dales and Viollet.He was a lieutenant in the Royal Scots and was KIA on 2 Sept 1918 at Hamelincort and is buried in Queant Military Cemetery, Buissy. The Banks family were Derek’s maternal grandmother’s side and are presumably linked to this person.
