Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Amos Goodhare is the brother of my great great grandfather John Goodhare. They are an interesting family because the two brothers were 'water men' working a 'vessel', probably a Humber keel (barge), owned by their mother. John's daughter, my great grandmother, Mary Ann gives her place of birth as 'River Ouse', so presumably on the barge. As the canal trade lessened, John settled in Hull, and his brother Amos moved to Scarborough. The name Goodhare appears to have died out.

Amos Goodhare is my husband’s Great Grandfather. Amos’s daughter, Margaret Ann, married Walter Foster. Walter & Margaret’s daughter, Edna Beatrice, was my husband, Anthony’s mother. I would be grateful for a copy of this image. Many thanks, June Scott-Brining
