1965 first name on monumentSusan Tait was 87 when she died therefore was born in 1878/9.Susan married Jacob L Gill on the 22nd of June 1904 at St Phillips church Portobello Edinburgh. They were both aged 26.Mr.& Mrs J L Gill moved to Crieff in 1906. Mr.J L Gill,purchased his own shop in Creiff after learning the grocery trade. The shop, 26,The High Street still has his name above it at the time of writing this (2012) and internally is little changed. The present owner of this business has a wide selection of whisky miniatures,and is mentioned in the Scotland edition of the Lonely Planet Guide.It was reported that Mr and Mrs Gill had 2 children a son and daughter, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grand children as at the time of their Diamond wedding anniversary in 1964.Mr J L Gill was a senior elder in the local church.Mrs Gill was noted for her unstinting work in support of the RNLI and the local branch of the BWTA for many years.

He was married to Susan Tait on 22nd June 1904 at St Phillips Church, Portobello,Edinburgh.In 1906 the couple moved to Crieff in Perthshire where Mr. Gill learned his trade in the grocery business.In 1936 he purchased his own business at 26,West High Street, which still bears his name over the door (2012).Mr and Mrs Gill had 2 children a son and daughter.Mr Gill was very active in the local church and was senior elder, very well known and respected in the town.He lived for many years at his home St Johns, Strathern Terrace Crieff and was a very keen gardener.After his retirement he went to live with his daughter Mrs Sharp in Cellardyke.
