Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I live in New Zealand and am the great grandson of Duncan Wilkie Paterson, formerly a lawyer of Edinburgh, whose dauhter Mary Paterson married Percy Aitken, naturalist and son of Thomas Aitken. I am writing a memoir and am including in it information about Theo Aitken (later Prendergast)and her cousin, my aunt Jean Pterson who returned to the UK at age eleven and later nmarried Duncan Mackie, formerly a Scottish Historian and acaddemic. I am a writer and poet who in 2006 was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to literature. If it interests you, my great great granndfather was Alexander Stephen of the Glagow shipbuilding company. Mary Paterson (Aitken), Hugh Grant and many others of us are all descended from the Stephen's family. Most sincerely, Alistair Paterson

I think Frances Sarah Turrill, Thomas Aitken's second wife is related to me. She was an older sister of John L. Turrill , born ~ 1839, whose daughter Laura Frances Caroline Turrill married my grandfather Adolf Pistor 1911 in London.
