Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Archibald Balderston was my great, great, great grandfather. I thought his wife was called Koreish Aleem and his sister was Helen, but she may have adopted an english name. They met when he was in the army probably in first Afghan war - I am trying to research it. Any idea what regiment he was in?! Thanks so much for your service

Family history - Archibald Balderston (assuming this is the correct one) married an Iranian (i.e. Persian) princess called Koreish Aleem but I think she took the name Helen.
