Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am trying to find out details of my grandfather Herbert Tarran and I believe that Thomas Tarran was his father (my great-grandfather) and that Maisie Tarran was Herbert's sister.
(requested on 01 09 2011)
I believe this man (Thomas Tarran) was the younger brother of the first of my relatives (of the Tarran line, on my father's side) to emigrate to Australia from the UK. The relative who emigrated was William Francis Tarran (b. 1834). Thomas Tarran (b. 1851), who may be his younger brother, is listed as being on the gravestone image, along with Thomas' daughter Maisie. Their father was also called William Francis Tarran. I'm hoping that text on the gravestone might confirm if my ancestor and Thomas Tarran are indeed brothers, with the same parents. Thomas was a sculptor, and both his (potential) brother and father were stonemasons, as was another younger brother. I have bought some copies of death certificates (my ancestor and his wife) but am keen to add further information. Many thanks, Jane (Sydney, Australia).

Thank you in advance for sending me the larger image and thank you for the work you do in running this resource. I have a new sister-in-law who is, I believe, a descendant of Thomas Tarran. I am preparing a family tree for her and she will find this image very interesting.
