Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Lydia Annie Raine (nee Gurney) was my great grandmother. Her son John Charles Frederick (my grandfather) died from cerebral maleria in S. Rhodesia when my mother was only 3years old. She knew very little of her father's side of the family but I am busy piecing bits together! Lydia was born and grew up in Amersham, married a missionary, travelled the world, then returned 'home' where she died.

Sarah Lousia Crowhurst, I believe was the wife of Eusivius Gustavus Crowhurst and I also believe is the grandmother of my grandmother Jane Louisa Batts (nee Crowhurst) who was born in Amersham in 1889 and died in Brisbane Australia in 1990. I know my grandmother's grandfather had sever (4) wives. I have visited his grave in the cemetery of St Mary's in Amersham which lies alongside 2 of hs wives. I am not sure if Sarah Louisa is one of the adjacent wives. I have taken photographs of Eusivius Gustavus' grave head stone.

Sarah Louisa Crowhurst is my mother-in-law's mother. My mother-in-law is Jane Louisa Batts (nee Crowhurst) born in Amersham, Bucks about 1889 to Bertrand and Sarah Crowhurst. Bertrand was the vet in Amersham Before that Betrand father Eusebius Gustavus Crowhurst was the Amersham vet - refer inter alia to judgement of Crowhurst Vs Amersham Burial Board. Eusebius and two of his wives are buried in the Amersham Cemetery (in the corner towards the Martyr's Memorial. The photo of Sarah grave (nee Gurney - daughter of the town butcher .... or baker) looks to be located closer to St Mary's church.
