Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Seeking my Wigg family tree information grandmother was a Wigg. Thanks for your help!
(requested on 11 11 2014)
My mother was Annette Mary Wigg, great great granddaughter of John Wigg. I am trying to discover how he became involved in the Brazil trade out of Liverpool to Rio Grande do Sul, having started life in Barnsby, Suffolk. The Wigg Building in Rio Grande testifies to the wealth generated somehow. His son or grandson, both 'John Clayton Wigg', was in business with James Creswick Irving, grandson of James Irving, a documented slave captain. So did John Wigg meet James Irving somewhere?
