I am not a relative of this family but am writing a book on the former potters of the Maling Pottery at North Hylton, Sunderland, in 1841. John Ferguson and his father in law Thomas Buxton were both potters here. I think John Ferguson went on to become innkeeper at the Commercial Hotel in High Street, Sunderland, and I am keen to learn more about him and the family (believe me, this research makes me feel like I actually know these wonderful people!). I hope to use these images in my book, if I am allowed due to copyright? I'll ask the question when I receive the images and will only use them with permission. Thank you.
