I'm tracing my husband's Family Kennington and I believe this might relate to John Kennington who passed away about 1561. Its a bit hard as well as we live in Australia. I have found some information that you might find interesting it relates to Thomas Kennington and his Wife Sussanah who came to Australia in 1865: SUSANNAH KING (CROWTHER) – MARRIED NAME SUSANNAH KENNINGTON Susannah King was christened in Market Rasen Lincoln UK, she was an illegitimate child of Elizabeth King. Her father was Gregory Crowther a blacksmith. Elizabeth King married Gregory Crowther 18 July 1844 in West Rasen, Lincoln UK. Susannah Crowther (King) had two children in England to Thomas Kennington, before travelling to Queensland Australia, arriving on 9 Sept 1865. They travelled as Thomas and Susannah Kennington, with children Alfred and Elizabeth, leaving Liverpool on the Melmerby. They married in 1874 in Queensland and later moved to Wagga Wagga New South Wales. They lived in a Brick Cottage at 5/32 Kincaid Street, Wagga (cnr of Kincaid & Simmons St). Susannah’s father Gregory Crowther moved to Australia around 1853 (his brother Charles Crowther moved to Australia but not sure of timeline). Gregory lived in Wagga Wagga New South Wales and ran a Blacksmith Shop. Susannah’s husband Thomas was a Bricklayer according to council rate payers information. They had another Seven children in Australia – Mary Jane, Edward A, David, Charles Gregory, Catherine, Winn King and Thomas. Of all their seven children only Mary Jane, Charles Gregory, Catherine and Winn King lived to a reasonable age. Susannah died in Wagga Wagga New South Wales on 15 November 1882 suffering Hepatitis and Peritonitis. Her husband Thomas, then moved to Western Australia and died in 1904. I really appreciate your offer of the cousin connection..... Regards and Merry Xmas Barb Kennington

Hi. I believe this to be the gravestone of the oldest person I can trace in my family tree (dying in 1561). They were all based in Lincolnshire with many other Kennington. I would love to be able to see the gravestones and share with my family. Thanks. Nigel Kennington
