Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Horace Arthur Brooks was married to Jessie Mildred Barrett who was my great aunt. They had a daughter Vera Jessie Brooks who was born and died in 1917, the same year that Horace died. I have been able to find out little about any of them. Jessie's older sister Alice was married to Horace's older half-brother Walter Albert Sydney Brooks. After Jessie's husband and daughter died in 1917 she disappears from the records. Thanks in advance - Clive Barrett

I am a distant relative of Horace Arthur Brooks and on the 100th year of the anniversary of his death in WWI (2017) I will be taking his Great War medal to a Remembrance Sunday service to honour his name and his sacrifice. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists his grave as being in the Etaples Cemetary, Northern France. I will also remember his dear wife Jessie, who lost their only child within the same year. Such devastating loss. I know I will shed a tear for them all. With Love Timothy Brooks
