Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Hi! I have Ferguson ancestors from East Lothian and keep running into genealogical dead ends. It's quite possible that this is a dead end too but I would like to see the monument anyway if possible. Do you know if the Archibald Ferguson born in 1794 on this monument may have also been married to a Margaret Miles in 1819? I don't think the dates make sense as potential ancestors of mine but who knows. I guess that another question I might have is would most people living in the Lothian region at that time be buried with grave markers or would many go without? I will be visiting at some point likely in the next couple of years but am not there yet ;-D Thanks!

I am searching for my g.g. Grandfather Nathaniel FERGUSON and his family. His wife was Phebe O'Neill (aka Phebe Caroll). Nathaniel and Phebe had 3 ? Children (possibly more). Elizabeth b.1842 Carrickfergus, Ireland, Henry b.1843 Carrickfergus, Ireland and Nathaniel born 11.5.1845 Carrickfergus, Ireland. Nathaniel (born 1845) is my g.grandfathet. He migrated to Australia 1866. I want to visit Scotland/Ireland soon and also find any family still living there. Marilyn Dietiker. Australia
