Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

William Thomas King was my great great grandfather. He drowned in a boating accident in New Shoreham in 1858 aged 44. I believe this is the gravestone for him and his parents Thomas King and Elizabeth nee Gates although the dates appear wrong, perhaps they are hard to read on the gravestone. I would very much appreciate a copy of the photograph and thank you for your work in doing this. Cathy MacLeod

Hello, I found on your website a photograph of what appears to be the gravestone of my King relatives. I'd very much appreciate a copy, as I am descended from the brother of the subject, and therefore from Thomas & Elizabeth who are mentioned in the description. Very interested in the speculative information about Elizabeth, that her maiden name might have Gates; I have no leads on her, so I'd be much obliged if you could explain the reason for this speculation. She is a bit of a brick wall, so your comments or hints would be very helpful indeed. I do have many photographs of gravestones, if they would interest you, mainly from Aberdeenshire and Devon, though I'm afraid that they are not yet fully indexed or transcribed. Thank you for your help. Kind regards, William Grassick
