Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

The calculated dates of birth should be treated with caution as in many cases it can be one year out.

The calculated dates of birth should also be treated with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate.

Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

This is my Great Grandfather who died abroad after an internal rupture causing suffocation whilst on his ship the Pacific. The family legend had it that he died in his bunk - however I found out that his death was registered in Antwerp Holland. I never realised there was a monument to him and neither did any of my family! A trip to Ipswich this year is in order I think. I hope the monulent is still there! I do have some photographs of other graves of both my families which I will scan and send (I'll go and read the volunteers page on how to do this) Many Many thanks for the site Denise Cornell

I requested this once before but managed to lose the larger image when changing PC's. :( The link you originally sent me no longer brings up any image and says my email is no longer a registered one although I can log in OK. Please could you send me the image link again. Many thanks Denny Cornell-Howarth G Granddaughter of Joseph William
