He was born in 1821 and christened 27 Jul 1821 at SS Peter and Paul Church, Shernborne, Norfolk. He married Mary Mott Seaman on 14 Sep 1845 at St Pater's Church, West Rudham. They had 2 children, Elizabeth Seaman(1837-1912) and Mary Ann Godby(1846-1917). He was a shepherd all his working life.

She was born in 1815 in Dersingham, Norfolk and was christened there on 14 Apr 1815. She married James Godby on 14 Sep 1845 at St Peter's Church, West Rudham, Norfolk. They had 2 children Elizabeth Seaman(1837-1912) and Mary Ann Godby (1846-1917).
