Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

trying to locate death records of Thomas McDonald, married to Hellen McDonald. I've been able to locate her death record, and am hoping that Thomas is here also, as I'm requesting another picture of a Thomas. My great grandmother was sent to Canada in mid 1880's with just a sister. Hellen had passed away, but from what I can tell Thomas was still alive. Searching to find out why she was sent, that father couldn't keep, none of her other older siblings could keep her? She was about 5/6 and her sister a year younger. Looks like they went on an orphan ship. Thank you for doing this!!
