As far as I know my family left this area of Scotland - West Calder West Lothian - in the early 1900's to come to Canada. When Lorne Elder came to Scotland doing research on my family decades ago, he interviewed Hugh Duncan and located the farm where the Elder family resided before coming to Canada. There is some connection with the late Hugh Duncan's late wife nee Elder. My grandfather was James Elder, youngest son of Thomas Elder and Janet Gray. Thank you, Kristen Elder in Vancouver BC Canada
