The Friends of Woodbury Park Cemetery Tunbridge Wells are researching the lives of Anna Maria and Ellen Selina Bowes (both buried in Tunbridge Wells) who with their sister Madeline undoubtedly spent much time with their grandfather Frederick and aunts in Edinburgh after they were orphaned (Frederick Bowes, son of Frederick Bowes and brother of Anne and Ellen was their father) Anna Maria's husband was killed in the Crimea war and Ellen Selena's husband was a noted military architect who designed and oversaw the building of the Royal Albert Hall. We are putting together an account of all their lives as part of our history work on the cemetery
