Rev Herbert George Baily
1900871813first name on monumentI know nothing about the Reverend Mr. George Bailey except that he spent most of his time at Cambridge or helping to run Prime Minister Disraili'sofficial life. Florence Bailey Atkinson was my grandmother and the youngest off spring of the Baily family. What is the surname of her mother, Elizabeth......? I only know, (or have been told) that she was born in India in 1819 and was brought up by her grandfather, General George Mignon in Cornwal. This seems to be quite a conundrum and I'd like to know more if possible Thank you, Lynette H. Emery.

Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

The calculated dates of birth should be treated with caution as in many cases it can be one year out.

The calculated dates of birth should also be treated with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate.

The names above are all the names that are listed on the grave monument. It is most likely that only the entries with dates and ages are interred in the grave.

Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

What precisely does "helping" entail? I live in Denver, Colorado, USA . According to my long deceased Mother, The Reverend Henry GeorgeBailey is my great grandfather. His wife was Elizabeth, my Mother's Grand Mother but I am not sure of her own family name. She is of great interest to me because, according to my late Mother, she was very well educated thanks to her Grand Father, indepent minded and highly respected in her own right. I should like to find out something about her other than that she was born in India in 1819 and that both her parents died by the time she was 6 months old. She was sent to England to be brought up by said Grand Father, General George (?) Mignon, in Cornwall. Is there any information about Elizabeth (Mignon)? or did she have another surname? I would be most grateful for any information you can find. Sincerely, Lynette H. Emery p.s. I forgot that this note was to ask for a picture of a grave. If you can, please send anything you think might be of interest to me. Again, my thanks.
