Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I believe that James Aitken is my 7th generation Great Grandfather. I am doing my ancestry search. My grandfather was Forest Aitken Born in 1891 in Plattsburg Missouri. My mother added the "s" to my birth certificate by mistake, and my brothers and I just kept it that way.

James Aitken is my 8th great grandfather. This picture is a wonderful addition to the genealogy I've been putting together. This particular line is of special interest because it's my mothers pure material line. My mothers mtDNA is H1g which is quite rare and here we trace it back to Ann Watson. Thank you much for your work.

I am tracing my ancestors through Robert Aitken, who died in Philadelphia, PA, USA. I am looking to collect every bit of information that can be found. Also, by being able to contact potential cousins, I may discover earlier ancestors. Thank you.
