He was my granduncle (my mothers uncle); and I made a mistake in my last communication to you. He was a first cousin of Menus O'Keeffe and not a brother as I mistakenly wrote down. Hope this is helpful. There are also lots of references to James, on the internet, especially on the web-site of the National Library of Ireland. Since I have not had any reply from you yet, I hope all is well. Best wishes.

I'm drawing illustrations for his wonderful translation of Buile Suibhne ( The Frenzy of Sweeney ),the definitive translation of a very interesting medieval Irish text . He was a scholar and a poet and I'm just very interested in O'Keefe and his life many thanks Anita
