Mary Miller
1832781754first name on monumentMary Spurstow Miller, christened 1 June 1756, was born to George Spurstow and Elizabeth Hayes in Chester, Cheshire. She married William Miller, of Liverpool, on 21 September 1779 in Chester, Cheshire. Her age at marriage was 23, giving a year of birth about 1756, not 1754. After her husband died in 1826, it appears that she must have gone to live with her son, the Rev. Charles H. Miller, who was a curate in Cheswardine, Shropshire, at the time of her death in 1832. Charles and family was still in Cheswardine when Mary’s daughter (and Charles’ sister) Ellen died in 1850. Both are included in the tombstone inscription. Ellen was born 23 June 1784 in Liverpool, and died on 28 February. For more information go to the website for Anne Healy's Genealogy.

Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I think this might be my ancestor Mary Spurstow Miller who died in 1832. She was a widow but not buried by her husband who died in 1826 in Liverpool. Her son, Charles H. Miller was the curator at St. Swithun's at this time, so my guess is she was living with this son when she died. Hoping the gravestone might have more info. She did have a daughter named Ellen.
