For family research. Wow I have just found they had another child. I would have never been able to pick this up if it was not for your transcriptions. Here is the out line of the family minus the missing child. Christopher was my maternal great/great grandfather.
(requested on 04 05 2012)
I am Ken Hughes, from Broughton, near Chester. I have been researching my family tree on the Metcalfe and Derwentwater side. I am now moving to the Whitehead connection. My grandmother was Martha Alice Whitehead, daughter of Christopher Whitehead (1828-1901) and Ann Craven his second wife. Martha Alice married Henry Derwentwater Metcalfe in All Saints, in 1898. Henry's mother was Julia Gray Radcliffe before her marriage to John Abdell Metcalfe. Julia was descended from the Derwentwater dynasty. My mother was Annie Gray Metcalfe, who was born in Easingwold in 1899. She had two brothers, Henry Radcliffe Metcalfe and Eric James. The family moved to Chester about 1902 wit Henry's work. Both died in Chester. Henry in 1914 and Martha Alice in 1954. Kind regards, Ken
(requested on 08 01 2013)
Christiana Whitehead was the wife of my maternal 3rd gt uncle, who was the brother of my gt gt grandmother- I think. My gt grandfather was Fred Whitehead Wilson (1871-1953).
