1859641795first name on monument16th May 1859 Born about 1795 in Midlothian. 1839 took over the Holyrood Flint Glass Works. In 1855 Queen Victoria granted him a licence �Glass Maker to Her Majesty� the place now assuming the title of �The Royal Holyrood Glass Works�. Also had a company called John Ford and Co. HIs daughter Mary Ford married Christopher Thompson Maling in 1857. CT Maling had a pottery in Ouseburn, Newcastle where Maling pottery was produced. They lived in Hexham and later in Newcastle.

Their daughter Mary married a Christopher Thompson Maling of Newcastle, who was a family member of a local pottery firm Maling pottery. The families were probably connected due to business

John Ford and Pauline Koch were my paternal great, great, great grandparents. Their daughter Mary Ford married Christopher Thompson Maling in 1857 and I am descended from them. I am trying to trace my family tree.

I owe a pair glass lustre candelabra. Made by John Ford I Purchased them from Belmans Auction West Sussex.UK While on Vacation in March 2011 I'm just getting to around to researching them.
